Community Involvement

Giving back to the community is very important to WellsColeman. As a firm, we contribute our time to a local not-for-profit on our annual Volunteer Day. We have worked with a variety of organizations, including the Central Virginia Food Bank, the Salvation Army, and the Byrd House Market.

Rachel Cassidy, CPA joined WellsColeman in July 2013 as a Staff Accountant. Rachel is a summa cum laude graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Tammy L. Herlinger, CPA

Biography

Tammy Herlinger, CPA rejoined WellsColeman in January 2008 and currently serves as Manager. With over 20 years experience in public and private accounting, she provides tax compliance services for estates and trusts and has experience in the preparation of tax returns for individual, partnership and corporate tax returns. Additionally, she provides auditing and tax compliance services for not-for-profit organizations.

Nicholas A Kinsler, CPA
Senior Staff Accountant
Biography

Nicholas A Kinsler, CPA joined WellsColeman in May 2008 and currently serves as Senior Staff Accountant. He has experience in financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations of businesses, homeowner associations, and non-profits. Nick also has experience in the preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses. While at Longwood University, he authored a paper titled “Stock Repurchase Announcements: A Test of Market Efficiency” published in the ASBBS eJournal. He has been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor since 2008 focusing on small business accounting system design, installation and training.

Terry Newberry, CPA joined with WellsColeman in January 2003 and currently serves as Manager. She has experience in financial statement audits of business and non-profits, internal control and employee benefit plan audits, as well as reviews and compilations. Additionally, she has experience with the preparation of business and individual income tax returns and financial statement preparation and analysis.

Jean Oakey, CPA has over 30 years experience to provide auditing, management advisory and tax compliance services for public charities and private foundations. She also focuses on the firm’s eldercare practice and tax compliance services for trusts.

David Swartz, CPA joined WellsColeman in September 2014 as a Senior Staff Accountant. He has ten years of tax and audit experience, concentrated in not-for-profit organizations.

Dana Utkuzova, CPA joined WellsColeman in May 2015 as a Staff Accountant. As Dana was pursuing her MS degree in Forensic Accounting, she was also working for the local school district for five years, translating Regents (State) Exams and teacher-parent conferences for bilingual students at schools. Dana is a summa cum laude graduate from State University of New York College at Brockport.
